Sacred Marriage Class Begins Today

Today we began the Sacred Marriage class...that is being taught by our youth minister, and friend, Kurt Rudd...If you guys missed today, be sure to be there next week to participate in this amazing study. We are going to learn to make our marriages stronger, by getting closer to God. The books cost $7, so if you haven't paid yet, be sure to get your money to James or Cassie Allen. If you are writing a check, you can make it to Sunnyside Baptist Church. Our homework for this week is to read chapter 1 of the book....

We are going to start passing a prayer request sheet around the room next week, due to being in a very large class...So, I will post the prayer requests each week from the sheet....

We are also getting a sign up sheet together for our Marriage Retreat that we are having October 3rd and 4th. This retreat is going to be near Natural Tunnel State Park, in Virginia...For those of you who don't know...this is about 40 minutes away. We have a friend that owns a few cabins in this area, and is going to give us a good deal on one of them. We are looking at $30-50 per couple...possibly less..depending on the number of participants....So, please guys, pray about this...James and I are burdened for our SS class...We feel that this is from God...We want to grow closer to Him, while growing closer to each other. God has a plan for us, and I can't wait to see what it is....Mark these dates down on your calendars...and plan on going...It is going to be AWESOME!!!

Hope everyone is having a Blessed Sunday.

Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Mt. 28:18-20 ASV).

Special Prayer Requests

I recieved this email from Susan Alderson this morning....
"Please add Emily Adams to your prayer lists. Emily is the daughter of a good friend of mine. She is a vibrant, spunky, beautiful 17 year old that is a force to be wreckoned with on the soccer field. She just found out she has mild Displaysia (sp?) that could possibly turn into cervical cancer. The doctors have chosen to monitor her instead of the freeze treatment right now, as they say the more times they use that treatment, the less likely she will be able to have children later on in life. When she found out in the beginning, her only concern was her ability to have children. She is very good with kids---they love her. Jaden (my 5 year old) says that Emily is "his girlfriend". Pray for her mother, Angie. She has been through a lot with both her girls in the past 3 years. Her younger daughter, Katie--age 11, was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic and also has alopecia. Angie has been strong for her girls on the outside, but I know that she is an emotional wreck on the inside. Please pray that our Wonderful Lord and Savior will work in Emily & Angie's life and this medical condition. God is Good All the TIME!!!"
I also recieved the following email from Jennifer concerning Jayme Clymens' aunt, Barbara Pliler . Please remember this family in your prayers today....
"I just received a call from Tommy, he said that Jayme asked that we lift up her Aunt Barbara (she lives here and attends our church) in prayer. She was taken to the hospital this morning by ambulance with chest pains.

Please remember Barbara and her husband Rodger in your prayers this morning.
Barbara is just like a Mother to Jayme....so please lift Jayme up in prayer also."

Special Prayer Request

I recieved this email from Sarah this morning....

When you get this email, please pray immediately for my niece’s half-sister, Erin. I know many of you have been praying for her already. She is the 14 year old girl that has been in ICU at Holston Valley.

Kevin’s mom just talked to Morgan (our niece) and she said one of Erin’s lungs had collapsed this morning and they had to put in a chest tube. They are taking her for emergency surgery and then flying her to Vanderbilt if she is stable enough. The plane is already on the way. None of the family will get to fly with her but her parents, grandmother and Morgan will be driving.

I know this family will appreciate your prayers.

On another note, my cousin’s 8 month old son, Asher, is doing a little better. They were able to take him off of the ventilator this morning. Keep praying for him too.

Special Prayer Request

I recieved this email from Sarah Murdock this morning...Please remember this family in your prayers.....

"Mother, Katie, is my cousin. Please pray for Asher.
Sarah

Hi Everyone--

Please remember my nephew Asher (8 months old) and his parents Katie and Dusty in your prayers over the next few days.

Asher has developed a severe infection in his lungs and is on a ventilator at Holston Valley Hospital in the Pediatric ICU. The doctors have advised us that the next 24 hours are very critical for him. He had a broncoscopy today, which was a procedure to try to clear out some of the congestion from his lungs. He is sedated as they try to keep all his vital signs under control. He had a very stressful time tonight with from about 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., as his vital signs were in serious condition--extremely high heart rate and respirations.

At this point, the doctors have advised it will be 24-48 hours until they know exactly what type of infection he has. Until then, they are trying to keep his breathing under control and have him on a broad spectrum antibiotic and sedation medications.

I'll send an update as soon as I have more information.

Lots of prayers please!!

Suzanne"

A Couple of Special Prayer Requests

Jennifer sent this prayer request to me...it was sent to her by one of her good friends....

"My cousins 2 year little boy was diagnosed yesterday with a brain tumor. His name is Keegan Callaway. His Mom is Brittany Callaway. Brittany and Keegan are flying to Memphis TN today. He will have a biopsy on Friday and possibly surgery on Friday. They said the tumor is a very large, fast growing and that it covers most of his cerebellum. The cerebellum controls yours balance and sight. They believe that by the size and because of the fast growth that it is malignant cancer. He will likely have to have chemo treatments. They also said that he will likely have lasting effects in his eyes and his stance from the tumor. He began having trouble on Monday with balance and couldn't walk on Tuesday. Those were the first signs of any trouble. Please pray for complete healing for this little fellow and strength for his young Mommy. His Mommy also has a 4 week old little boy who was born 5 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU unit in JMH. Keegan spent the first week of 2008 in JMH with pneumonia"

This one is from Tanja Moody...
"Danny Duncan's 91-year-old grandmother, Ruby Frye, fell last night and broke her hip. She’s at Holston and will likely undergo surgery. This is going to be a tough day for the whole family, especially Taylor and Tyler"

Also remember Daniel and Tina this morning as Bryson is having surgery..He is having his tonsils and adenoids removed....

Please remember all of these families in your prayers this week...God Bless...
