Hi Everyone--
Please remember my nephew Asher (8 months old) and his parents Katie and Dusty in your prayers over the next few days.
Asher has developed a severe infection in his lungs and is on a ventilator at Holston Valley Hospital in the Pediatric ICU. The doctors have advised us that the next 24 hours are very critical for him. He had a broncoscopy today, which was a procedure to try to clear out some of the congestion from his lungs. He is sedated as they try to keep all his vital signs under control. He had a very stressful time tonight with from about 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., as his vital signs were in serious condition--extremely high heart rate and respirations.
At this point, the doctors have advised it will be 24-48 hours until they know exactly what type of infection he has. Until then, they are trying to keep his breathing under control and have him on a broad spectrum antibiotic and sedation medications.
I'll send an update as soon as I have more information.
Lots of prayers please!!
Suzanne"
